Since it was founded in 1976 GBH Exhibition Forwarding has prided itself on being an event and exhibition logistics company specialising in the movement of shipments around the world, by road, sea, and air for trade shows, exhibitions, and congresses. Alan Goldsmith and Ron Blackmore, having previously set up their own freight forwarding agency, agreed to support Alan Hunter with the establishment of a company dedicated to servicing British companies attending trade shows and exhibitions with overseas shipping.
Over the subsequent years, we have built a team of experienced event logistics professionals who dedicate their time and efforts into supporting companies with the handling and transportation of exhibits and materials, both small and large. This, along with support from like-minded freight forwarders around the world, has allowed us to service a wide variety of events, the first being Dusseldorf’s BERGBAU mining equipment show, before Utrecht, Tokyo, Gothenburg, and Paris followed.

GBH Exhibition Forwarding was established
Founded in 1976 by Alan Goldsmith, Ron Blackmore, and Alan Hunter, GBH Exhibition Forwarding takes each founder’s surname initial to form the GBH.
Retirement and company transfer
Alan Goldsmith and Ron Blackmore retired in 1992, transferring the company to Alan Hunter and his son, Michael.
Part of the International Exhibition Logistics Associates
In 1997, GBH Exhibition Forwarding joined the International Exhibition Logistics Associates (now known as the International Exhibition Logistics Association). This provided the company with the opportunity to interact with fellow professionals in the field.
Privately owned family business
Sadly, in 2013, Alan Hunter passed away. His son Michael took the reins, continuing the GBH Exhibition Forwarding legacy. It has remained privately owned ever since.
Service recognition and awards
2014 saw IELA members recognise the services GBH Exhibition Forwarding provided at on-site events by crowning them first place as Domestic Agent at their awards.
Award winners two years running
IELA members awarded the company second place as Domestic Agent in 2015, further recognising them as a first-class service provider.
Further award recognition
2017 saw GBH Exhibition Forwarding achieve third place as IELA’s Export Agent.
Multi-award-winning exhibition and events logistics company
In 2019, the company was awarded the prestigious first place position at the Export Agent Awards by IELA members, cementing their status as a multi award winning exhibition and events logistics company.
